The Queen gives Touch of Taste the thumbs up
On the 19th October Her Majesty The Queen opened the Diamond Light Source facility at Harwell. The Diamond synchrotron light source is the largest scientific facility to be built in the UK for nearly thirty years. After successfully making it through the selection process Touch of Taste were very proud to be chosen to cater for the luncheon for Her Majesty, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and 110 invited dignitaries. Kir Royale and canapés were served to 250 guests and employees before the luncheon of: A Selection of SalmonsPoached Salmon with Lemon Mayonnaise Salmon Tartare topped with Crème Fraiche and Avruga Caviar Home cured Gravadlax with Dill and Mustard dressing Tournedos of English Beef flavoured with Rosemary and Thyme crushed baby new potatoes wilted spinach and baby carrots with a rich Port & red wine Sauce Trio of Desserts Crème Brulée Chocolate Ganache on a Raspberry Coulis Lemon Tartlet Coffee and handmade truffles After the Loyal Toast, Her Majesty and his Royal Highness left for another engagement but the remaining guests and staff numbering 400 were served sweet canapés and champagne. Contrary to the popular myth Her Majesty certainly did eat most, if not all, of her luncheon and on her departure instructed her car to be slowed so she could give a wave and the thumbs up to our chefs. | News archive
