On 27th September, in front of the eyes of 200 British press and media, Virgin 1 was launched at Richard Branson's house in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.

The entertainment was a fairground theme and Touch of Taste provided the catering and bars to background music from The Enemy and The Bright Lights, with live entertainment from the Cuban Brothers.

In keeping with the theme, the food served included pig roasts, burgers, salads, hot dogs and pizzas from traditional fairground trailers. Desserts were chocolate brownies and doughnuts.

The guests arrived late morning and continued to party well into the evening.
